Grandparents' Day
In the past we have celebrated Grandparents' Day and we couldn't wait for this to return after the last few years put a hold on these occasions. Finally, on the 24th of January 2023 we saw the return of Grandparents Day where our grandparents visited us in Courtnacuddy N.S. We celebrated Grandparents’ Day as part of our Catholic Schools Week programme. We hope to continue this next year and for the many years to come!
The day began with Mass giving thanks for all our grandparents. The children deserve great credit for their hard work and the manner in which they read and participated in the mass in all ways. Our grandparents were then invited back to school where they enjoyed treats. A very special thank you to our Parents Association for all their hard work and support with this.
The grandparents then made their way to the classrooms to visit their grandchildren and see the wonderful work they have been doing with their fantastic teachers. It was a great day - you could feel the love in the air!
Grandparents' Day gave us the opportunity to meet some of our grandparents and also think about the importance of all of our grandparents and the gift they are to our lives. For some, it was a chance to re-visit their old alma mater while for others it was a great chance to meet up with friends and reminisce of days gone by.
For all in Courtnacuddy N.S. it was a privilege to have the opportunity to acknowledge the enormous contribution grandparents make. Below shows a selection of pictures form the past few years showing great memories that were made and will be cherished forever.
We sincerely thank those who took the time to visit and speak to our students and hope that all our grandparents from near and far had a lovely day!
