Active School Week
Active school week is a week of fun activities held in June, ending each year with our Teacher vs 6th class game. This has been a very competitive match every year and a much anticipated match for the whole school enjoy to watch. Our Sports Day is always a big hit with fun activities for the whole day! Our activities in the past have been various relay races, various blow up games such as ring toss, feed the monkey beanbag toss and also some tricky balancing activities. Children are placed into teams and work together with peers from other classes to gain points for their team. The winning team receive the much sought after trophy! We also have penalty shoot-outs on the principal for all classes throughout the week. We have a wide variety of activities throughout the week such as a disco/music in the yard, circuits/relays and fun activities. We like to try out a new activity each year. In the past we have tried Hockey, Dance & Gymnastics. We also try to incorporate as much physical activity into our curriculum as possible during this week, for example, doing a Maths Trail or a Minibeast hunt in the school grounds. We have placed a Suggestion Box in the corridor beside our Active School Notice Board where pupils and parents may give suggestions on what they would like to see during Active Week or in general to make our school more active. Pupils and staff wear tracksuits during Active Week and Active Homework is given throughout the week. It is always one of the most enjoyable weeks in our school for both the students and staff members.
